Raphaëlla Smits (Belgien) 2001, 2002, 2007
is one of our favourite guests artists: wonderful person, great teacher, excellent player and outstanding cook! What else do we need?
For more details about Raphaëlla see here
Raphaella Smits plays worldwide in her unique way eight-string guitars and historical instruments. Solo recitals as well as performances in duo with the most distinguished colleagues.Besides that stage-work she has made 15 albums, many of them being listed as indispensable to refined music lovers.
Raphaella Smits is internationally praised as an inspiring teacher for both guitar and chamber music. In addition to her chair at the Lemmens Institute in Belgium, she regularly gives master classes in West and East Europe, in North and South America and in Japan. Organizers of international music competitions ask Raphaella as a member of the jury because of her ability to listen and to judge so accurately. Here again she shows her talent to combine professional skills with a great sense of empathy.Raphaella Smits is called quite rightly "une Grande Musicienne".

Celso Marchado (Brasilien) 2001, 2002, 2007
will be again in Rotenburg - after 5 years. When he plays solo in a recital, we realize Brazilian music pure: voice, percussion, guitar. Also as an instructor and improviser, his students are carried away with enthusiasm. Waiting for 10 minutes, until everbody is ready to go out to the concert? Not with Celso! He is already playing, prompting his fellows to accompany his music: voice, perscussion, guitar - or whatever he has right now in his hands.
Celos is a great cook, last time he createt Brazilian cuisine for all partiicipants for the last night in Rotenburg. Can you imagine a nicer festival?
For the 25th anniversary Celso will compose a piece for the Rotenburg Guitar Orchestra and will bring it together with him to the world premiere on Sunday, 29 June, 2007.

As a student of Professor Karl-Friederich Mess, flautist Wally Hase, who was born in 1969 in Freiburg/Brsg., won the first prize in the German "Young Musician of the Year" in 1984 and in 1985. In 1986 she started her studies at the Hochschule für Musik (College of Music) in Stuttgart after she had been to the United States of America on a scholarship in the same year to play in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra. She studied with Professor Jean-Claude Gérard and completed her "Künstlerische Reife" degree in 1993.
As a member of the Festival Orchestra in Ludwigsburg, Wally Hase toured to China, Japan and South America. In 1989 she participated at the "Festival of the Arts" in New Zealand and in the same year, the German television channel ZDF broadcast a portrait of her as part of their Sunday concert series. Since 2000 she is Professor for Flute at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" in Weimar.

Dávid Pavlovits: The Hungarian guitarist attended the guitar and composition class of the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Szeged. The most important influence during his studies in Hungary he received from the professor Ede Roth. He has been teaching guitar, music theory and music history since 1996, recently he is teacher at the Faculty of Music of the University of Szeged. In 2005 he has performed a solo recital with great success at the Carnegie Hall in New York. In 2006 David and Hans Wilhelm meet each other again at the guitar festival in Sczcawno (director Piotr Zaleski). David presented himself as a distinguished instructor, highly gifted soloist and great partner together with Tomasz Zawierucha, when they both played the solo parts of the Bach Concerto BWV 1060 with the guitar orchestra of Szczawno 2006, conducted by Hans Wilhelm Kaufmann. David will be the first time at the Rotenburg Guitarweek, and we look forward to perform again the Bach concerto with David and Tomasz. See also website David Pavlovits
