The course program from the July 17 - 24, 2011 in detail:

Morning: Single lessons are mainly set in the morning for all ages and levels. The standard program includes 3 lessons during the week and the intensive program offers 6 lessons for advanced players (these places are limited).
Our teachers: Hans Wilhelm Kaufmann, Dirk Lemmermann, Thomas Müller-Pering,  and Raphaella Smits. The choice of lecturers is free, it is even possible to book up to 6 lessons with one teacher, provided that he or she is not yet booked up. We recommend therefore to choose at least 2 teachers. Individual preferences we will try to consider if possible.
Feedback of a participant: ...I want to say "Thank you" for the great festival! It was simply wonderful - the whole athmosphere, the nice people, interesting lessons, everything to kind and pleasant, even the kitchen service was not hard for me....


Afternoon: Participants have the possibility to play together. We offer chamber music for 4-8 guitars in different levels. The groups will be led by the lecturers and will prepare for the official or the internal concert at the end of the course.
...Besides, in Rotenburger Gitarrenwoche everybody really loves music. And classical guitar. No matter the level. And everybody can participate in everything, it doesn't mind if they are younger or older, if they are students, amateurs or professionals.


Evening: The work in the guitar orchestra with all participants belongs to the most exciting projects. Every evening we are going to rehearse two prepared pieces. The voices will be mailed to you before the start of the course. They are (mainly) on a easy up to medium level but the sound is extraordinary. We use octave, normal and bass guitars. During the 'Internationalen Sommerkonzerte' that traditionally form the high spot of the course week the "Konzert der Teilnehmer und des Gitarrenorchesters der Rotenburger Gitarrenwoche" will be the last act.
...Guitar orchestra was FUN! It is a pity that guitar players can't join a symphonic orchestra without being the soloist and a guitar orchestra is a great approximation of what a common orchestra is. And the pieces were ready in 1 week. Which is something incredible! Playing the octaves was funny although at first I couldn't find anything there)  and hearing the soprano while we were playing was amazing!


Between: There will be workshops, exhibitions, concerts.... or another way to spend time are walks through the lovely forests around or short trips to the lake nearby called 'Bullensee' which already was mentioned in one of Luis Molinas compositions ("Fantasia para la Dama del Lago Bullensee").
