Our course program of the guitar festival 2017
July 29 - August 6
„What a magic place!“, Luis Molina (Cuba) once said. We stay in a small but comfortable house in a charming village in the north of Germany. In this beautiful environment you can relax and enjoy a week full of guitar with friends – like in a big family. Our idea of an exciting guitar festival.
The individual lessons with the teachers allow plenty of time for coaching and questions. All levels and ages are welcome! The standard course includes 3 lessons and leaves plenty of time for intensive practice. An intensive course, with 6 lessons, is also available.
Playing together is an important part of the festival, and you'll find out, that we offers you ideal opportunities to meet and play with other guitarists. Our chamber groups have played an enormous spectrum of music in the past, including compositions such as Renaissance dances, the famous "Tico Tico" and demanding pieces. A group for beginners and less-advanced players is included, and guitar students will find the opportunity to play in an ensemble with Thomas Müller-Pering or one of our star guest teachers to be a very special experience. Take a look at some examples on Youtube.
Young or old, amateur or professional – music connects people! In the evenings, we all rehearse together in the guitar orchestra, preparing pieces that we perform in a participants' concert at the end of the festival. Villa-Lobos with a soprano, Bartok with a violinist...we can look back on many great concerts. We've even performed pieces written especially for the guitar orchestra of the Rotenburg Guitar Week, such as "Moin, Moin" by Nikita Koshkin.
Lessons, chamber music and practicing are not yet enough for you? Go to our workshops and inform yourself about new notation programs, freshly published sheet music, teaching methods or stage fright.
One day of the week is reserved for the sheet music and guitar exhibition, where you can talk to the exhibitors / luthiers and try out guitars. Or, if the weather is nice, relax in the garden or pack your bathing trunks for the Bullensee (a nearby lake), a place that Molina has immortalized with a special piece for guitar orchestra: "Fantasia para la Dama del Lago Bullensee".
