At around €500 in total, the standard course works out at approximately €63 per day. And that includes everything: 4 high-quality meals a day, plus complimentary snacks and fruit. On top of that, you get individual lessons, chamber music, guitar orchestra, concerts, workshops, wonderful fellow participants, pick-up from the train station, beautiful surroundings, a peaceful woodland setting and accommodation at the country retreat. And all of this for the price of a very affordable 2-star hotel.
Our tutors provide individual lessons and are happy to accommodate your personal needs and wishes. To take part in chamber music and the guitar orchestra, it is helpful to have some relevant experience or at least around 2 years of guitar lessons. We can adapt very well to different ability levels, which is why we ask about your repertoire when you register. For chamber music and the guitar orchestra, we send out different parts according to each participant’s playing level. If a part turns out to be too difficult (or too easy), you can always get in touch with us.
Of course, we really appreciate everyone’s individual preparation. Ultimately, though, we learn the music together during the week. Sectional rehearsals are also part of the programme, and if a part proves too difficult, you can always swap it for another one.
Every year, our participants range in age from around 15 to over 75, with all age groups fairly equally represented. Younger participants should be able to manage independently throughout the week, as we are unable to provide continuous individual supervision.
We have a fantastic catering service, with meals provided by Henrike Seliger, a caterer from Verden. We also have our own professional kitchen, so anyone who needs to can always prepare something for themselves.
We offer a pick-up service from the station. However, we ask you not to arrive much before 4 pm, as we are busy with various organisational tasks around lunchtime. In any case, it is very helpful if you let us know your arrival time well in advance.
For those who prefer not to stay at the country retreat, we help find private accommodation in Ahausen or the immediate surrounding area. Local residents offer rooms or holiday apartments for rent. Meals and all course activities still take place at the country retreat.
Please bring your own towels. Bed linen can be borrowed from the country retreat for a small fee.
Maria: "Besides, in Rotenburger Gitarrenwoche everybody really loves music. And classical guitar. No matter the level. And everybody can participate in everything, it doesn't mind if they are younger or older, if they are students, amateurs or professionals."
